The coffee we use does vary and we have a selection of different beans, however the key philosophy is to only sell to quality fairtrade. The beans are generally hand picked, this is the only way of guaranteeing that thy are picked at the optimum moment for processing, it also means that the local people are kept in work, as opposed to using mechanised systems.

Once the coffee beans have been extracted from their shells, the beans can be roasted, this is where a real skill comes in, if the roaster does not get this exactly right, it can impair the taste or aroma of the coffee rendering it useless, or at best, only suitable for budget ranges, which we do not use.

Even once the gourmet coffee beans arrive with us, there is still much that we can do to enhance the flavours. Firstly the beans must be ground freshly, this prevents any oxidisation. Even filling the machine takes skill, if you pack the coffee too tightly it can come out far too strong, of course, the reverse is likely if too loose, it’s about getting the right flow of water through the coffee grounds.

All these elements are important for any type of coffee, be it a nice strong Espresso with a fine layer of bubbles on top (called crema), or an Americano which is simply a single or double shot of espresso with additional hot water, similar to filter coffee but with a richer depth of flavour. Finally we make the ladies favourite, the cappuccino, this again is made with espresso with frothed milk.

We only use the finest gourmet coffee from a supplier, who specialise in top notch coffee beans.

There is so much to learn about coffee, a great site is coffee geek, it’s been around for years and has a wealth of information about all aspects of drinking and preparing it.

For many years now the legal system in the uk has been funded in a number of ways. For smaller cases such as small claims court the parties will not usually require legal representation and therefore costs are not an issue, beyond those of the individual parties involved. For normal court proceedings solicitors are usually involved and sometimes also barristers so the costs can begin to spiral, this is when a costs award is usually made for the winning party, so the losing one will often have to pay all their costs. Of course for many people legal aid is an option so they may be able to get their entire costs covered anyway.

The no win fee cases which are becoming more common these days are a similar case, in that the solicitor will generally be quite selective about which cases they will take on, then when the case is won they claim their fees from the other party. They need to be selective in this way because they generally guarantee that there are no fees involved for their client, so if they do happen to lose the solicitors have to absorb them themselves. The positive aspect of this is that if you have a strong case you have absolutely no outlay regardless of the verdict, however on the other hand, if you have a case which is more unclear what the verdict will be, they may not take you on as a client at all, or if they do you may not qualify for the free service, on the understanding that you could have to ultimately pay two sets of costs.

There are numerous companies who provide a middle man service around the no win no fee cases, they attract interest through various advertising mediums, then qualify each inquiry before selling them on to the solicitors who actually manage the individual cases. The changes to funding are an attempt to prevent this kind of company from inflating the overall costs and effectively cut margins down to the point that nobody would pay for their leads any more.

So what’s being proposed? Well, at the moment a solicitors fees build up according to the time spent on the case, however the proposed changes will bring in a fixed fee instead, whilst this is not yet set, it’s likely to be much less than they currently charge for many cases, particularly the more lengthy ones. To keep up to date with how these changes proceed, see the law society website.

Make it Useful

You might be tempted by that patchwork wall hanging but how well will it be received? It might not fit in with their décor and it certainly doesn’t serve any practical purpose. You would be well-advised instead to choose something that will be really useful for their future. A couple who have just started living together (admittedly this is less and less common these days) might need items for their kitchen. You could choose them a super-snazzy bottle-opener that boasts extra gimmicks. Or you could buy them a quality piece of kitchenware, such as Le Creuset, that they will use for years.

Are the newlyweds going on a honeymoon? You could buy them a handy travel guide to their destination or perhaps a nice photo album or logbook so that they can record their trip to look back on for years to come.

Make it Individual

If you know the couple well, try to find something that really reflects some aspect of their personalities or life together. If you go way back, how about pre-loading a digital photo frame with images detailing your friendship? If you’re close, but not that close, have a think about their hobbies. They might both enjoy wine so sign them up to a wine club. Or perhaps they’re both really into cooking; you could buy them vouchers for cooking lessons. Remember that a professional wedding photographer will be present, so don’t get snapped giving something cheap!

Make it a Real Treat

When couples are planning their wedding, they can become pretty overwhelmed with how much they are spending so treats have to be shelved for a while. You could use the gift-giving opportunity to buy them something with which they can spoil each other. You could put together a basket of bath oils, lotions and scented candles so they can enjoy a pamper session after the hectic day is over.

If in Doubt, give them the Choice

Some people view vouchers as a bit of a cop out but most newlyweds will welcome cards pre-loaded with cash that they can go shopping with at their leisure. There are now quite a few cards on the market that can be spent in various different outlets, giving the couple a wide choice of options.

Some couples these days are employing the ‘wishing well’ approach at their wedding. With most couples already being set up in their homes, the list of items they need is quite small. So instead, they tactfully ask for ‘contributions’ to either their honeymoon or their future in general. This makes life easier for the guests but if you know the couple well, you may want to do something a little more personal.

Remember that a professional wedding photographer will be present at any wedding, they may not just do wedding photography but may also do portraits, so have a chat with the wedding photographer, you could get a good snap while you are there.

The Benefits of Using an Accountant
Income tax laws have a habit of changing regularly and sometimes in subtle ways that the average tax payer may not be aware of. These changes can impact greatly on the reporting and claiming of personal tax. Unless you are aware of these changes, you may not claim your full entitlement. Likewise, if you are facing problems knowing what is an eligible expense to include on your claims; your taxable income may be greater than it need be.

People with more complicated tax reporting, such as those who operate small home businesses, will find the services of an accountant who uses a software like Sage, invaluable in helping them to set up their business records to ensure all applicable taxes are paid. While there are excellent resources available to assist the personal and small business tax payer to look after their own personal tax, when questions about tax arise as they inevitably will, having access to a personal accountant to advise and provide answers can be an invaluable asset.

Some people may wonder if the cost of using a tax accountant makes the service cost effective and a justifiable expense in an already income pressured environment. Whilst it is true that in the short term, paying for an accountant to prepare tax returns may seem expensive, time spent in trying to find solutions to a tax question is arguably lost income potential and the cost of finding answers quickly and seamlessly by utilizing the skills of an accountant can save money and create income in the long term.

The Ongoing Support of an Accountant
People, who have been sceptical of the advantages of using a tax accountant, usually discover that the return they receive on their income tax cheque more than pays for the cost of using the accountant’s skills and services. The cost of using an accountant may be tax deductible and often the accountant will charge a price that includes ongoing support throughout the year. Even if the accountant you choose does not provide this service, many people develop a business relationship with their accountant that enables them to ask ongoing questions and for the accountant to advise them of more efficient ways of carrying out not only their tax problems but their legal account keeping responsibilities and other aspects of efficiently running their business affairs.

Investing in the services of a tax accountant can be the difference between a profitable small business and one that fails in today’s economic environment after all is could cost quite a bit to buy and maintain your own copy of Sage 50 Accounts, let alone the time investment.. It can also provide much needed income to families struggling to make their annual budgets balance.

It is a horrible situation when you have suffered personal injury through no fault of your own. You could have been involved in a car accident, you could have had a slip or trip, or something could have fallen on you. There are plenty of different reasons as to why you could have suffered a personal injury When this injury is through no fault of your own, you are entitled to some form of compensation for the injuries you suffered. Personal injury lawyers can help you to achieve this.

Where Do I Find a Personal Injury Lawyer?

There are advertisements on television, on the radio, on the internet, in magazines and newspapers. It is unlikely you haven’t come across any yet. So how do you choose the right one when there are so many different companies you could go to?

Make sure you read some reviews from people who have used a personal injury lawyer in the past. You could also ask around, claiming compensation is, let’s be truthful, quite a big business right now so there will be plenty of people who have had some experience and will be able to tell you if someone has worked well for them.

The level of service they offer is also very important. Are your enquiries responded to quickly? Does the personal injury lawyer explain the process to you clearly? Are you regularly kept up to date with developments?

Costs of a Personal Injury Lawyer

In the current market, there are plenty of companies available that offer a “no win no fee” service and it is a good option to find a personal injury lawyer who offers this type of service. But make sure you read the agreement properly before you sign it, to make sure you don’t run the risk of having to pay for the other side’s costs should your case be unsuccessful.

Overall though, there is no reason why you should find a solicitor that charges upfront fees. With a no win no fee agreement, it basically means that the costs of your law suit are recovered from the other side should your claim be successful. As personal injury lawyers are highly experienced in their field of expertise, it is highly unlikely that they will proceed with your case unless they are convinced they will be able to win it. Make sure you are aware of what the fees are if you do win your case – this is usually a percentage of the compensation you are awarded, although many personal injury and medical negligence lawyers now have systems in place to ensure you keep 100% of the compensation.

So, as shown, there are plenty of companies for you to choose from if you have suffered a personal injury and believe you are entitled to some form of compensation. Make sure you do a bit of research to see where you can get the best service from and most of all make sure you understand the agreement you enter when you choose a personal injury lawyer to represent you in your case.

There tend to be many web site design companies available to select from, but how can you know which would be the best choice for you personally.

Below are some tips that will help you choose the best website designing company that will help attract the traffic you need to survive on the internet. Having an online presence is all about volume; the more visitors you can get to your site the better. The more visitors that you can get to stay at your site and actually make a purchase is great. This cannot be achieved without a well-designed website, however.

A Web Designer Should Have a Great Website of Their Own
Look for a company which has a well created site of the own. Any reputable website design firm will offer you a glance at their creative skill through making their very own site appealing to visitors. It doesn’t invariably need to be similar to the design you’re looking to produce, but ought to be done good enough to show that they’re a website design firm which knows what they’re doing.

If a web design firm’s own site leaves something to be desired, then this is probably not the firm you should choose to handle your company’s online presence or seo campaign.

Once you’ve narrowed down your alternatives do not hesitate to request references from each one of the firms you are looking at. This can help you see the type of business relationship and conversation that additional clients have observed. Also ask to determine a copy of the portfolio associated with other sites they have designed. This will help you to see firsthand the caliber of the work that the companies have performed. Many website design companies possess links for their portfolio by their own website; if you cannot seem to locate any home links on their site, request a summary of sites they have done work with.

Find a website design company which will create your site from scratch rather than creating a website from a template. Websites which are created from scratch tend to be more user pleasant and attractive than websites which are designed from a template. Websites made from a template usually are apt to have the exact same basic design and frequently have exactly the same feel and look as additional sites created very much the same.

It is essential that your site represents your organization in the easiest way possible. Choosing a website design company which will create your website from scratch can help your web site stand strong apart from the rest of the sites on the web.

seo company uk – seo swindon

These are just some of the things to consider in a website design company, always make sure to voice your own opinions of how you want your website to appear and never be satisfied with anything that you’re not 100% pleased with.

Swindon is just off the M4 in Wiltshire and despite being seen as a new town, it’s actually very old, it was even mentioned as far back as the doomsday book, along with many other towns in the area such as Marlborough. The age of the town can be seen as soon as you step away from the main town centre where you will find the usual range of high street brands, hair dressers and solicitors offices, but there are numerous old buildings there too, many of which are around the oldtown area. For example both the Nationwide Building Society (or are they a bank now, I’m never sure these days) and the IT giant Intel, both have their UK headquarters in the town.

Of course if you are a football fan, you will probably be aware of Swindon FC, who are doing fairly well at the moment, although I won’t say any more than that, as I must admit to knowing virtually nothing about the game!

The magic roundabout is possibly the most ridiculous bit of road design in the country, possibly all of Europe, it consists of a central point with five mini roundabouts around it, so if you want to get from one side across to the other, you have no choice but to navigate 3 of them to make it over, it looks comical, but believe me, when you approach it on a busy day it’s very confusing! I didn’t see any, but would imagine there are a lot of accidents there, probably only little bumps as everyone is moving so slowly.

On the way out I could see this chap in what looked like a space suit at first, but as I got closer I realised that it was a beekeeping suit. He was up a ladder with an old fashioned skep under one arm and was poking around with a big round mass of bees, I’m guessing he was a bee swarm collector rescuing a stray swarm of honeybees. I pulled over for a few minutes to watch, but it looked like he would be there for a while so drove off again.

So in addition to all this I actually made a few new business contacts too, one was a solicitor based out of swindon and another was involved with the local council, not road planning I hasten to add So all in all I have come away with a rather unexpectedly pleasant opinion on the town.

Stonehenge
Although nobody can be 100% specific, the monument is said to date back to around 3100 BC and was built in three stages over 2 millennia. Unfortunately due to previous damage the stones are now cordoned off, so although visitors are welcome, they are unable to actually touch and walk amongst the stones.

Initially Stonehenge was just a large earthwork, construction was approximately 3100 BC, at this time it was just an earthwork, made up of a ditch, mound and some holes in the ground, however it appears to have soon been abandoned and then left for around 1000 years. Then around 2150 BC the 82 blue stones were hauled to the site from Wales, they are said to have travelled for 240 miles both dragged overland on wooden rollers and floated down rivers on rafts, these stones were then erected on the site in a double (but incomplete) circle formation and the start of the avenue was also begun. At around 2000 BC the third phase sees the introduction of the enormous Sarsen stones, which most likely came from the Marlborough downs approximately 25 miles away, whilst they did not travel the same distance, some of these are estimated to weigh in at 50 tons! Finally around 1500 BC some of the smaller stones were re-arranged to create the formation we still see today.

Old Sarum Castle
Salisbury was not always where it now stands, Old Sarum is the original site with it’s impressive hill fort still standing. This was constructed by the Celts in the iron age and named Sorviadum, however it was taken by the romans and several roman roads converge on the site to this day. Parts of the Doomsday book were written at this site, only in 1219 when the bishop moved the cathedral to the current site of Salisbury did the emphasis begin to move. It is also a notable rotten borough, and numerous rich would buy the site to gain a seat in parliament. Now it is of course derelict but well maintained standing on the outskirts of Amesbury and one of wiltshires many tourist attractions.

Wood Henge
Only discovered in 1928 when excavated after being spotted by a military pilot as the flew over the site, one of the most impressive tourist attractions is wood henge, it is one of the UK’s most recent significant discoveries. It’s 76 metres in diameter and probably used to consist of ditches, banks and wooden posts, most of this has now been lost but markers have now been put in their place.

If you are planning to visit the area it’s worth a look at the visit wiltshire website, they have information about all the local towns including Amesbury which is the closest, plus information on accommodation in Amesbury from hotels to B&B’s.

Golf is a particularly popular pastime, possibly due to the high number of retired people living in and around the area, there is a fantastic private course on the outskirts of town, which partly resides on the common, you can see it as you leave town towards Swindon. A second course is a little further out to the west of town and yet another towards Devizes.
The leisure centre boasts a wide range of facilities for a town of it’s size and includes a weight training room, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and a large sports hall with all the athletic equipment you would expect.

If you enjoy a spot of shooting Marlborough is right in shooting country, if like me you prefer to just shoot clays there are several clay shoots to visit, so you can really challenge yourself by not becoming too familiar with just one course.

The microlight centre is just past the Beckampton gallops on the right and flights can be booked for as little as £45 for a quick flight, this is a very popular activity during crop circle season, so if you come during the summer you are probably best to book in advance.

There are numerous B&B’s, guest houses and hotels in Marlborough and the surrounding villages, along with a wide range of restaurants and high quality local pubs. For some reason there is no Marlborough tourist information centre though, so you will either need to find what you need on the internet before you come, or pop in to Avebury, which is only about 4 miles away.

In 2010 Sage won the software Satisfaction Awards Payroll prize for their latest incarnation of the ever popular and successful Sage 50 range of Payroll software.

The latest version, Sage 50 Payroll 2011 was released towards the end of last year. It’s as easy as ever to install, with wizards throughout the implementation and videos and tutorials along with the manuals on the disk. You can now even install the whole programme with a single click if you are happy to apply the default settings.

Those who are new to the product will most likely want to take out Sage Cover, this is the brand name for Sage’s own support service which is available on-line or via telephone. However, for those who don’t, there are 45 days free support on offer, so at least you can be sure that you will get as far as installing and running your first payroll for your employees.

If you are already using Accounts Professional, or the lower cost version with less features, Standard Sage 50 Accounts, the interface will be familiar to you as the general look and feel of all products in the range is very similar

As you would expect it links in to other products in the range, notably the Sage 50 Accounts range (accounts, plus and professional versions), and to the HR software, so employee details can be read back and forth when you install a new application.

The latest version allows users to:

Create new employee records and maintain existing ones

Calculate statutory payments including maternity and sick pay automatically

The salary review forecasting feature means you can predict the impact of future pay rises

Set up starters quickly and efficiently and process paperwork for leavers

Attach documents such as word or excel to an employee record (handy for cont5racts etc)

YEAR END

A straight forward step by step process means that even those with little experience of PAYE can process a year end (perhaps with a little support from your sage cover contract)

All documentation can be submitted electronically to HMRC, this has been a requirement since the 2010 return.

Forms can also now be received from HMRC electr4onically

Start the following years payroll without closing off the current payroll year.
