Sage UK

With their head offices based up in Newcastle in England, close to the Scottish borders, Sage UK is a division of The Sage Group, a worldwide company supplying accounts, payroll and related business software to companies in the UK and worldwide. The company was originally formed in the UK back in 1981 and has gone from strength to strength since and is now by far, the leading supplier of accounting and payroll software to small and medium sized organisations across the UK.

Worldwide The Sage Group employs over 10,000 people, they develop, support and sell a vast range of products (relevant and compliant within each country or region), this is done both directly and via a network of business partners and accounting practices. In the UK alone they have over 2000 staff and this includes their international sales team who deal with customers with locations in multiple countries, typically users of the 500 and 1000 range.

Whilst the core products from Sage are typically based around accounting and payroll processes, Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll being the most popular in the UK, they also have other solutions for forecasting, human resources, job costing and P11d, as well as integrated solutions for specific vertical markets, these include manufacturing, construction and retail.

Sage also offer Sage Cover with many of the products they sell, this is their technical support, which can be accessed via telephone or email, with additional resources available through their website. More recently they have begun to offer additional business services for Microsoft Excel, H&S, and HR advice. These services complement the wide range of training courses which they have available, these range from Sage 50 Accounts including all variants up to Accounts Professional and Payroll to general accounting and book keeping or using excel.
